Mission 3 - Viral Amnesia

Since summer began, Jayden’s been having a much better time at Kadic. Not many students to bug him, more time to hang out with the ones he trust, and he got to move out of the room he shared with Owen and into his own since no one occupied it anymore. Now he was able to sleep, work, and play to his own terms rather than the agreed upon ones of him and his roommate. Though he didn’t like the fact that he didn’t have anyone to talk to when dorm check and lights out was called, he did enjoy the peace and quiet.

Unfortunately, one day, Jayden woke up to the sounds of terrified screams outside early in the morning. Now alert, he shot out of the bed and looked around, then looked out of the window. His tail and ears dropped at what he saw. Throughout the campus, multiple Pokemon were out cold.  Last time he saw during a previous XANA attack when he used poison smoke and multiple students died. “Oh Arceus, not again…” he said as he began getting dressed. He was trying to do it fast, but considering the fact that he was still sleepy, he was falling over more than putting on his clothing and gear.

After finally getting dressed and out of the door without hurting himself too much, he ran down the hall and outside, examining the area. He shook one of the bodies and felt for their pulse, smiling a little and realizing they weren’t dead and backed off. “Alright,” he said with a sigh. “That’s a relief.” He then thought for a moment and shook the individual. “Hey. Wake up!” The student, a Gligar groaned and coughed some before getting up. “Oh my head….” He looked to Jayden and tilted his head. “Who are you?”

“That doesn’t matter. What matters is you need to get to your room.” Jayden simply replied.

“My…room?” he replied confused. “Wait, where am I?”

“At Kadic Boarding School…you don’t recognize this place?” Jayden replied a bit stunned.

“What’s a Kadic Boarding School?” the student replied. Jayden simply stared at him a bit miffed at his lack of intelligence and walked off. “Never mind…”

He walked around the school looking and listening, hearing similar questions asked. He then realized why the student seemed to be so ignorant of his surroundings. He was trying to put the pieces together of everything he was hearing. “Is everyone losing their mind?” He took the time to return to the dorms to see what’s going on.

 He walked back to the high school dorms and looked around, trying to think and heard a child screaming. He ran up the stairs to see a Liepard scared and confused. As he walked over to him, he heard a door open and a very agitated, yet familiar, Furret pop his head out of the door. “Mind keeping it down?” he requested. Jayden walked over to T-Bone and he turned his attention from the Liepard panicking to the young Lucario and smiled a little. “Hey Jay”, he said with a yawn.

“Do you know what’s going on?” Jayden asked

“No,” T-Bone said with some annoyance from the Liepard waking him up. He rubbed his eyes. “Look, I just woke up and I’m as clueless as you are. What’s the Liepard panicking for?” It seemed that he didn’t really care, but it was the right thing to be concerned about.

“I think it lost his memory…” Jayden said looking back to him. T-Bone looked up and stared for a moment. Jayden looked back to T-Bone and said, “Listen. Can you come with me to the factory, or you going to stay here and watch over the ones who have lost their minds…well, memories?”

“Lyoko…I need to hurt something,” he replied. It was obvious he was upset about being woken up. He went back into his room and got dressed. Meanwhile, Jayden watched the Liepard walk on down the hall, trying to figure out who he was. T-Bone didn’t take long to get out of his pajamas and into something more comfortable. When he was out and ready, the duo ran towards the factory.

From the forest, to the sewer, to the highway, Jayden and T-Bone made their way to the lovable rope swing entrance of the factory. Jayden ran and grabbed it with some excitement, swinging down to the ground and landing, trying to look cool to himself. T-Bone landed and walked into the elevator, chuckling and shaking his head at Jayden’s attempt. Jayden simply shrugged and asked, “What?” He then followed him into the elevator and closed the door. The elevator roared to life as the doors sealed and the elevator descended. Jayden glanced over to T-Bone. It seemed the run perked him up back to his usual happy self.

I didn’t take long before a certain female voice contacted the duo. “Hey guys,” she said over the speaker. Jayden looked over to the camera, knowing that it was simply Jerry talking, and he began to wag his tail lightly.

“Hey Jerry!” Jayden replied. “Where’s Allo?” Jayden was used to hearing Allo on the intercom. Not that anything was wrong with Jerry, but he was surprised Allo wasn’t with her.

“Not sure,” Jerry replied. “He didn’t answer his phone.”

“…I see,” Jayden said with some worry. “Hope he’s okay.”

“Jayden, I’m sure your brother can handle himself. I’m sure he’s fine,” T-Bone stated as he scuffled his head fur, making Jayden giggle a little. He nodded, agreeing with T-Bone.

“Owen and Finola are already inside,” Jerry stated. “They could certainly use a paw or two.”

“Roger that,” Jayden said as he reach the scanner room. After a quick glance around and seeing T-Bone get inside, he climbed into the chamber and was closed in. He felt the chambers activate and saw the light scanning his body. He slightly listened to Jerry’s voice as she took the necessary steps to put him in Lyoko, but once he heard the word, “Virtualization”, he closed his eyes hard as he felt an out of body experience.

Not a moment too soon, he soon found himself in Lyoko, suspended in the air with T-Bone before landing on the platform and looking around the Desert Sector for anyone. Nobody was insight, which meant Owen and Finola were somewhere along the way. “Owen is the deactivator, guys. Keep him alive!”

“Which way, Jerry?” T-Bone requested to know, looking around the platform.

“To the north!” Jerry replied. Immediately, the two went off to catch up with them. The two of them wasted no time as they searched for Finola and Owen, but they weren’t moving fast enough. Soon a warning came saying, “Heads up! There’s 3 Roachers coming up behind you!”

Jayden turned back to see, as Jerry said, there were 3 Roachers. “Let’s do this, T-Bone!” He stopped and charged an aura sphere, not taking long to launch it and destroy one of the bots. “That’s 2!” The Roachers responded by shooting rapidly at Jayden. Jayden ran for cover but got hit in the side as he dived for cover behind a rock. “Kuso!” he shouted as he held his side, staying behind cover.

T-Bone dashed towards the enemies and quickly, with both paws, struck them with Sucker Punch. He took a couple of shots from both, but both targets were eliminated. He held his leg for a brief moment, growling at the pain, but got back up, shaking it off. Jayden got up and walked over to him. “I’m fine,” T-Bone said, looking down at Jay. “Just a little sting. Nothing much.”

“Jay, you’re at 110 Life Points. T-Bone, you’re at 100,” Jerry said. “You two are doing just fine right now. Recommend hurrying up though! Owen and Nola are getting ambushed!” Jay, hearing the problem, sprinted with T-Bone easily surpassing him due to a longer stride.  Jayden would use Extremespeed to run ahead of him, but he decides against it due to holding it for a better reason.

Nola and Owen were surrounded by 2 Krabs and Roachers, taking cover behind rocks. Jayden and T-Bone observed the issue for a brief moment. Jayden rushed in using Extremespeed and Metal Claw hoping on top of the Krab and stabbing it hard in the XANA eye, causing significant damage to it and destroying it. This caused Jayden to be the center of attention and immediately get bombarded by lasers. He proceeded to block a charged shot from a Krab barely, and a few of the rapid fire shots. He noticed that one of the Krabs were charging to shoot at him and he decided to run back. Finola used Dark Pulse on the other Krab, cutting off its legs and causing the shot to barely miss Jayden. This made him turn back around and look at the group. Finola finished by slamming her weapon into the center of it’s top, sending it into oblivion. Owen used Ice beam on the two Roachers, freezing them in place. T-Bone delivered a dangerous Quick attack and shattered the enemies to bits. The enemies were cleared out.

“Alright! That’s what I’m talking about!” T-Bone stated happily.

“That was…awesome.” Finola agreed.

Jayden looked around before jumping and punching the air with a declaratory “Woo-hoo!”

“Guys, Celebrate later! Owen, get to the tower! It isn’t far!” Jerry interrupted.

“Right!” Owen stated as he ran for the nearby activated tower. As he phased in, the group kept an eye out for any other monsters, and thankfully, none were seen. Soon, the tower tip turned from Red to Blue.

Jerry, seeing that everything was ready, declared, “Return to the past now,” and hit the button. A bright light soon enveloped everything starting from the factory and not taking long to cover the world. Time reversed to a recent past where the outbreak was nonexistent. Everyone regained their memory, and the warriors, unfortunately, gained the memory of their amnesia.

Jayden respawned back in his room where he was before everything occurred, he smiled seeing that everything was back to normal. Unlike last time, he received a phone call from his brother. Confused, but also happy, he decided to answer. “Hello?”

“H-Hey Jayden…um…what happened?” Allo asked worried about something.

“…Let me guess…you got infected with amnesia too, huh?” Jayden grinned.

“…it would seem so. Damn, I was really hoping that was a nightmare…” Allo said, his voice sounding unsure.

“What all did you do?” Jayden chuckled.

“That is something I will never tell you, or anyone else,” Allo stated with a bit of strictness.

“Okay! Okay…sorry I asked. Either way, glad to hear from you.” Jayden replied.

“Likewise brother! Listen, I got some more missions for you to do if you’re interested.” Allo said, changing the subject with a different tone. It sounds like he’s trying to forget what happened since it never happened, technically.

“I’m on the way. See you soon.” Jayden promised as he hung up, gathered his belongings and left the room. As he walked, he grinned a little to himself, saying “Heh…just another day as a warrior.”
